i had the chance to get a few things from the UK and oh my god! the excitement of scrolling through the websites of superdrug and boots really gets to me! strangely enough i dint order too much of make up this time. its mostly hair care with one or two mae up items.. lately iv been obssessed with my hair since i got it coloured and im really into taking care of them all the more now. let me know if u would like to see a coloured hair care routine post!

all of these products have been reviewed so much that i had to try them!! i wonder what the rave about micellar waters was, i havent been able to try bioderma but the fact that garnier has come up with something as competitive is really impressive! waiting to try it out! also dry shampoo.. oh my good lord! how popular are these!! now i did try to search some in Indian brands but i dont think we have any here except for kerastase which i saw in a salon recently.. please leave in the comments below if i am missing something from the Indian market, I would want to try it!

DEEPIKA PADUKONE'S GIRL NEXT DOOR LOOK IN YEH JAWANI HAI DEEWANI

HAPPY FRIDAY GIRLS:)

as promised i came up with deepika's girl next door look, she wears this initially in the movie and its so perfect for those who wear glasses, its just the right fresh faced look..

  • filled in my brows with MAC's concrete eyeshadow and an angled brush. concealed dark circles with MAC studio finish concealer in NC 20.primed my lid with MAC painterly painpot and used the pink shade from elf duo cream eyeshadow in sugar cookie

  • used pink venus from MAC all over my lid and used a blending brush to smooth any harsh edges. dint use anything in the crease of my lid, it looks like her eye make up has only one eye shade to it.

  • made a thick line with my lineron my upper lash line. added mascara on upper n lower lashes.

  • applied fake lashes and some more mascara to complete the eye look.

let me know what you guys think:)

NAIL OF THE DAY!

what are your plans for tonight??!

BATTLE OF THE bb cream- GARNIER b.b cream miracle skin protector VS POND'S WHITE BEAUTY all in one BB+

hello girls!!
today i'm posting a comparison between the garnier bb cream and the pond's all-in-one BB+ fairness cream. firstly a bit about both the products.

POND'S WHITE BEAUTY ALL IN ONE BB+
the company claims that it is the first all in one BB+ cream with SPF 30 pa++ from pond's that works from inside and outside. this unique skin color matching fairness cream gives u a natural looking instant glow on the outside while working from the inside. its specially designed for indian skin.and helps give you
  • instant natural glow on the outside
  • lights your skin and spots from the inside
  • evens skin tone
  • with spf 30 for skin protection
  • no clogging pores
  • light, non- oily texture.

MY TAKE- honestly i dont really indulge myself in a fairness cream but yes i do love creams which come with a tint and this product was purely brought in by me for a review and comparison. but to my surprise i love it!!!!!! pond's has done such a great job with this one, hats off! from what the company claims, i feel its too the mark. i never find that my pores clog and so it dint break me out either. its got good coverage if u ask me, alomst light to medium when used with a bit of concealer on your problem areas. its light and wat stands apart is for me is it doesnt give you a grease look at all!! i have oily to combination skin and it works just fine in controlling the oil on my face all day with a compact touch up mayb once. i really hope Indian brands come up with more and more such products beacuse we are so drawn to other products from various brands due to the quality they impart. i can't wait for the day when Indian brands will make world class cosmetics and beauty gurus from all over will wish to swap their products for ours!
anyhoo!! thumbs up for  pond's white beauty all in one BB+.

PACKAGING- really cute and compact casing, it will definitely draw you to the product if you are a sucker for nice packaging like me.

GARNIER  B.B CREAM MIRACLE SKIN PERFECTOR-
The company claims that this all-in-one high performance skin care contains Vitamin C derivative known to have antioxidant properties. it helps to boost skin glow and brightness. enriched with mineral pigments, BB cream instantly beautifies your skin. it instantly spreads evenly for a flawless finish. it lets skin breathe. it is an 8H moisturizing formula with almond extract. its spf24 helps to protect skin from UV. It makes skin FAIRER, GLOWING, SMOOTH, EVEN TONED AND MOISTURISED.

MY TAKE- i had seen a lot of beauty gurus rave about this one on youtube and i picked it as soon as it hit the stores in India. it has a very light talcuum powderish scent to it which is pleasant. it again does almost everything the company claims except i don't know about the antioxident properties as it dint do much for me. nonetheless it does make you look fairer and gives a very dewy glow which is just right for summer time. i have a lot of blemishes on my skin so it doesnt do much for them, its very thin in consistency and glides on easily. this product is definitely for people with a more dry dkin type because the dewiness soon ends up looking greasy on oily skin. that would really be my only complain from this product, it should work from me in the winters though.

PACKAGING- it comes in a skintone packaging much like the product itself and its travel friendly!

THE COMPARISON-
I THINK BOTH THE PRODUCTS ARE GREAT, i really would be able to find alot of difference between them. i just feel that they both would suit people with different skin types and tones. the garnier one would be great for lighter, less pigmented and drier skin types and the pond's would do well for more wheatish ( NC 25 and above) and more oily skin types. since the pond's cream is thicker in consistency its great to lighten blemishes(temporarily)

PRICE-
POND'S- 69INR for 9gms and 125INR  for 18gms
GARNIER- 99 INR  for 18gms and 199INR for 28gms.

P.S- LOVING THE RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mask Mania- himalaya herbals and everyuth naturals

happy friday ladies:)!!
finally there,s another weekend lined up for us to relax and rejuvenate! im off for a long weekend at my in laws with a whole lot of plans and things to do! but for those you who have decided on a quiet relaxing weekend all for themselves, i have a few tips to pamper yourself and get ready for the next week..

summer days are so stressful, more so for the skin! the sun, the pollution and the harsh sunscreens do more damage than we can imagine. and quite honestly, it takes you to be in your mid 20's to see all that your skin has gone through in your early 20's.. tanning in a instant noticeable damage but things like dark spots and lines appear with time.. now ofcourse you could have a spa appontment fortnightly or monthly and counter act these, a great way to push the damage to appear later is DIY remedies!

there are a large array of things available in the market to counter act the affects of skin damage but honestly a little care goes a long way in having healthy and glowing skin.

iv really been indulging in these lately and have found a great difference in the texture of my skin.
  • apricot, walnut and neem scrub from himalaya- what do these do? there is build up of dead skin cells on our face which causes it to look dull and lifeless. scrubs have exfoliating properties which help to get rid of these dead cells and also to remove all the gunk from our pores which cud later lead to acne. its best to use scrubs 2-3 times a week depending on your lifestyle. an important thing to remember is to not rub the scrub too hard against ur skin because it may lead to redness and rashes. and avoid areas which have pimples on them.
  • mud pack from himalaya, everyuth golden peel off mask and cucumber mask- these face packs are usually great for aging skin as the firm the skin, makes pores appear smaller and make the appearances of fine lines lighter (temporarily). the mud mask is your typical fuller's earth (multani mithi)  face pack, its great for people with oily skin. my favorite is definately the cucumber mask, its so refreshing after a long, dusty day. you will usually have to have these on for 10-15 mintutes. instructions for use are printed behing all the sachets.

so this weekend when you decide on a lazy afternoon pedicure in your living room be sure to try one of these!

much love
xoxo

p.s- watched yeh jawaani hai deewani today, feeling young and vibrant ;)- will come up with deepika's girl next door eye tutorial soon

HERBAL ESSENCES SHAMPOO BY CLARIOL- A REVIEW

Hello guys!

this time around Im way too embarrassed to say il be regular in my posts because i haven't been doing that at all.. health reasons being the issue.. but nonetheless, iv kept a whole of things in mind to share and review with you.
today Im going to do a post on a shampoo brand which iv been sticking to loyally for about 8months now. iv used three different shampoos from the same brand and as the name says it, its herbal essences by clairol.

firstly i want to describe my hair type- i have coloured, wavy hair, the ends r mostly dry for which i use banana banane conditioner by the body shop which is absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! the scalp is oily, more so in summers cuz of the heat. i wash my hair everyday if im going out or every other day.

totally twisted and color me happy are the two shampoos im going to be talking about.
totally twisted

the totally twisted one comes with an amazing wild cherry twist which lingers in your hair all day,  i find that the usp of these shampoos is definately their scent, atleast thats what drew me to them. the shampoo is a light lilac color much like its casing, its creamy in consistency and lathers well. speaking about the creamy consistency, i find thats its great for people with who have a drier scalp, iv used this in summers and i dont advise it to anyone with a oily scalp because i find its a bit too moisturizing at the roots. so for those of you a drier scalp, its a great product, very moisturizing. for my ends, i always follow up with a conditioner so it does its work well.

these are the ingredients it comprises of.

color me happy

this one here was essentially for my colored hair, i found that it helped a lot in sustaining the color and texture of my hair when used with my conditioner. its a pink gel like consistency, very clarifying, it clears all the build up at the roots which is sucha great feeling for someone with a an oily scalp like mine.. its got a rosy smell to it which is divine! u can c i have gone through the whole bottle and its my second one! the con would be that it slightly dries the hair out so u have to follow up with a conditioner.

final take-
i like both the products, they are good value for money and dont cause issues such as hairfall.. il definitely repurchase thes in the future! looking to try their conditioner..

price- between 180-200INR for 300ml

NIVEA PURE EFFECT TOATAL FACE CLEANUP REVIEW

Hey Beauties:)!!!
summer is here and i hate it!! all i can think of i staying indoors and sipping on iced tea this season.. my skin has been unusually crazy, iv been breaking out as a result of my pregnancy and all i can think of is covering myself with lots of make up before stepping out of my door.. here i should mention of a product which has been of help in this phase.. the nivea PURE EFFECT TOTAL FACE CLEANUP now i have been using this a good 3 months before i write to you about it since im so particular about how face washes react to my skin type! i have very sensitive skin and its oily to combination so for the most part i can never just go out there, pick a face wash and like it for over a week! the first 3-4 washes in every face wash seem to make it feel good on my skin but maybe its just my excitement of using something new that makes me feel that way. but my experience with nivea pure effect has been different!

product claims-

my take-
the product is very grainy with a mild scent to it that doesn't linger for long. what i find best about this face wash is it doesn't dry my skin out.. i have a couple of dry patches which tend to be very irritable when i use products which are quite grainy but its not so in the case of nivea. it cleanses deep from within your skin and is great to get off make up especially if you  are in a habit of wearing medium to heavy foundation. if im staying at home, i usually tend to us the product once a day, in the morning that is, and at night i switch to my holy grail olay foaming cleanser which my aunt gets from the US everytime she comes! i oly use it sparingly because its tough to wait for its next shipment lol.. anyhoo!
i think the fact that is of multiple uses is great, there are a lot of compaines coming out with such products.
i mostly use it as a cleanser everyday and use it as a scrub when i have to remove my make up after a long day. it helps to unclog pores and softens blackheads to a fair extent. nd when you have a special date to attend its a good idea to use it as a face pack! u dont need to run around to find your other face packs, this works just fine! 5 minutes and your good to go!

packaging-
its simple packing and the lid stays on even when you go on trips and take it along. iv bought a larger size but there is a smaller one available too which is travel friendly.

final take-
i think its a great product, i mean in all the years of trying numerous face washes there is one dependable one for me and i know im going back to this one again and again for a really long time.. i think everyone should try it!

150ml- 199 INR

Orris Nail Polish Rremover Pads

Hello my beauties:)!!
long time, no see!! iv been gone forever now, 6 months perhaps.. the reason being, I GOT HITCHED :D!
i had a fairytale wedding with all things beautiful and now its me back to being myself and doing my own thing!

im sure everyone has experienced chipped nails just before an event and frowned and cribbed about it! and i just find carrying a nailpolish remover solution and cotton pads around all the time to be a hassle.. ladies! time a put an end to it! i found this amazing product which iv been raving about to everyone. i stumbled upon the Orris Nail Polish Remover pads in a health and glow store, they have them stacked near the billing counter and im sucha sucker for adding on things after being billed!

i got my remover pads in vanilla scent. it comes in a cute little travel friendly pack. that's a brand new box you are seeing but unfortunately it doesn't come sealed so im not sure if i got all 30 pads as mentioned on the box.

the consistency of the pads is oily so it makes sure all the nail polish comes off completely.. i got rid of my red color nail paint without alot of effort. u could do 3-4 nails with one.

to me, the mild scent of the product doesnt do much, i'd say its definately better than the horrible stench of normal nail color removers!

the cons to this would be none but the fact that it doesnt come sealed, you dont know how many others you would have to share it with before purchasing.

FINAL JUDGEMENT-
its a win-win product for me, great for on the go, must have in your purse!

PRICE- 60INR for 30 pads

LOREAL OPEN EYES PRO IN 03 BEIGE HARMONY

hello girls:)!!!
this is my first eyeshadow quad review for my blog. im a huge fan of them, its probably my second most favourite thing in make up after blush!
now there are not a large number of Loreal things that i own, just about 3-4 for now i think. i do have a single eyeshadow from them and am pretty impressed by how its pigmentation is in comparison with high-end brands.
WHAT THE COMPANY SAYS-
Loreal Open Eyes Pro eyeshadow quad is professional eye make up revealed step by step. the new creamy formula is an extra smooth and adhering  texture with an expert selection of harmonious colors: your eyes are  sculpted and instantly wide open!

MY OPINION-
to start of with i want to apologize for the picture quality, i couldn't find my camera and these where taken on my phone.
the product comes in a medium sized, black plastic casing.  the small size enables u to slip it in ur bag and hence its very travel friendly. i have it in the shade 03 BEIGE HARMONY. i like eyeshadow quads in comparison with eyeshadow duos and trios since quads are more versatile.

the colours in this particular quad are very subtle, neutral and everyday type. they are mostly shimmery to satin finish eyeshadows but the golden shadow right on top is glittery and a bit flaky.

  •  i really like that these can be used wet as well. they give a smooth finish. they are not powdery.
  • they have a good staying power, they stay on for about 4 hours without a primer and much longer with one on.
  • i did try these in a look with the instructions given behind the palette, it looks lovely!!
  • they are easy to blend
  • this particular quad is great for neutral lovers and office goers.
  • its my go to palette for a red hot lip! u can go subtle or smokey with this if u add a touch of well blended black liner.
  • its available in 7 more shades according to their website, i hope all of them are available at the store.

yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and im so happy i finally found a MAC dupe all by myself:P!!!
its a great dupe for MAC's GRAIN eyeshadow.. the MAC on is a bit more peachy but they are really really close.

the swathces!!!
(i think i swatched the last color with my lil' pinkie, thats why is not aligned with the other colors)

FINAL JUDGEMENT-
i'd say definitely invest in one of these palettes, they are great value for money. apart of me says 700INR is a bit much but i think for the quality its worth it!
u might want to pick these online for a better price:)

oh and a bit of randomness!!!!
im so happy i picked my first sling bag, i think they are such few options around where i live but im still hunting for more:) what do u guys think of this bright coral one?

and i love this temporary beetle tattoo my little cousin sister gave me..

CHAMPAGNE BLUE LOOK

Hello chicas:)!
so i finally pulled my cousin in so i could do a eye make up look on her and after much pressing she agreed:)! i like doing make on other people coz their eye shapes and sizes are different and to adapt colors and storkes to it is interesting as well as challenging!
my cousin here has smaller and more inset eyes, also her eye opens out completely which requires her to get the eye shadow a bit higher than usual! i drew the idea from arabic make up, not entirely but quite a bit and tried to incorporate it with a bit of softness. i hope it comes across in the pictures:)
id wear this for a night out or a party!

i used beauty uk palette to create this look! i hope you guys liked it:)
toodles x

Estee Lauder Automatic Eye Pencil Duo- Review

Hello Beauties:)!!!
feels like iv been gone forever! my eyes havent been doing too well, they dry up like crazy so iv not been using the laptop.. anyway:)! im back with a bang and will stick around, pinkie promise:D
today's review is for a product i recently discovered, recently is 2 months ago by the way! my friend introduced me to this. iv never used anything from Estee lauder so this brand is new for me though iv heard great stuff about their foundations. i was all drool when i reached their store:P! there is so much i want to try from them!

WHAT ESTEE LAUDER CLAIMS
versatile,double-ended eyelining tool with twist up color on one side, a smudger on the other.
creamy formula creates a soft blendable line, everytime. color tip is always perfectly shaped, never needs sharpening.

  • Dermatologist-tested
  • Ophthalmologist-tested
  • Suitable for contact lens users

 MY TAKE-
Iv never been a fan of retractable pencils due to my bad experiences with maybelline colossal kajal and chambor eyeliner pencil, but i have no regrets with this. i twisted it in and out a couple times to check and its working just fine. I have this pencil in JET BLACK. i love the packaging, its super gorgeous, so sleek and classy, its easy to apply, travel friendly and light weight. i like the fact that the smudger is soft and doesnt hurt my eyelid when i attempt to use it. i have very sensitive eyes, this doesnt make them water or irritate them. but yes my favorite part would be the refill it comes with!!!!! its so cool, u can have one pen and different colored refills, that way u have a variety of colors to chose from. i bought it mainly for the purpose of lining my eyes.

                                                                      single swatch

PROS-
  • Smooth and creamy, glides on easily.
  • u dont have to worry about sharpening it.
  • comes with a refill.
  • comes with a smudger.
  • pigmentation is good.
  • availability of nice colors.
  • stays on the upper lid for a decent amount of time
CONS-
  • it stays for barely half an hour on the lower lashline before it begins to disappear. so u need to set it with a powder eye shadow.
  • the pigmentation could be better.
  • not water resistant which is a sign of a so-so eyeliner/eyepencil.
  • staying power is not great either.
  • u may need to reapply through the day
FINAL JUDGEMENT-
i say u give this product a miss, i would not call it pricey if it stayed on but what is  an eye pencil if it doesnt manage to stay put throughout the day? but if u like a natural looking eyeliner and soft looks, u can give this a try.. as for me, il use it for my upper lid and set it with shadow so i dont have to re apply thorugh the day

PRICE-
1375 INR
